Tolkien Read-In Day
Wednesday, March 25 from 3pm-8pm
Ages 10+ are invited to join us in celebrating Tolkien Reading Day, which is held on the 25th of March each year as originally organized by the Tolkien Society in 2003. We are joining Tolkien fans worldwide by hosting a Read-In event especially for those who love Tolkien, fantasy, or epic stories and characters and worlds of all kinds. This is a come when you can for as long as you want, drop in, read-in event!
Come find a spot to read in a cozy reading nook and feel free to bring your own cushion, pillow, blanket, camp chair (swinging hammock chair anyone?!), or other cozy reading accessory. We will also have fun fantasy and book themed crafts and activities to enjoy if your eyes need a break or if you are an audiobook listener and want something fun to do while you listen! We will also have reading friendly snacks!
This event will be hosted by Utah Clean Reads Book Group, whose aim is to connect local authors who write clean books (kissing only and limited, mild swearing) with local readers who love to read clean books. Please visit the event page for more information.

The Fellowship of the Book
March 25, 2026 to September 22, 2026
This is a call to adventure for brave souls from our own Middle Earth communities in the shadow of our own Misty Mountains to join a Fellowship of the Book. We will have copies of Tolkien's book The Return of the King that will each take a journey from one member of the fellowship to the next until all 9 members of each fellowship have completed the adventure. Each member will receive a designated color to annotate and tab the book as they read and will keep the book for about 20 days before passing it to the next in line. The books will complete their journey at our Hobbit Day Tea Party on Tuesday, September 22nd, when the full fellowship will gather to celebrate the journey's end for their book and peak at the contributions of their fellow adventurers! This is your ONE AND ONLY opportunity to write in a book you get from our library!!
Each Fellowship consists of 9 readers. Visit the Fellowship of the Book Website for more information.
