Water Conservation

  • Water your lawn less. Outdoor watering is one of the biggest places to save.

  • Fix leaks quickly. Toilets, faucets and irrigation leaks can waste water every day.

  • Run full loads. Only run the dishwasher and washing machine when they’re full.

  • Take shorter showers. A few minutes less each day adds up.

  • Turn off the tap. Don’t let water run while brushing teeth, shaving or washing dishes.

  • Check your water use. A sudden increase can be an early sign of a leak or overwatering.

  • Adjust sprinklers with the weather. Water less as temperatures cool and skip watering after rain.

  1. Turn off all water. Make sure no faucets, appliances or sprinklers are running.

  2. Check your water meter. Write down the reading or take a photo.

  3. Wait 30–60 minutes. Don’t use any water during that time.

  4. Check it again. If the meter changed, you may have a leak.

Tip: Running toilets and irrigation systems are common places to check first.
