Recreation, Arts, and Parks Funding Program

RAP Program

The Recreation, Arts and Parks (RAP) Program helps fund recreation programs, cultural arts and park improvements in Spanish Fork. RAP is funded through a 0.1% sales tax, equal to 1 cent for every $10 spent, approved by Spanish Fork voters.

Apply for a RAP Grant

Applications are open February 1 through March 31 each year. Approved grants are distributed after July 1 and must be spent by June 30 of the following year.

Grant Information

Applicants must be either:

  • A qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • A City-funded recreation, arts or cultural program or facility

Qualifying nonprofit organizations must have a significant presence in Spanish Fork and primarily support areas such as natural history, art, music, theater, dance or cultural arts.

RAP funds may support recreation, arts and cultural programs, including:

  • Theater
  • Music
  • Festivals
  • Youth arts
  • Museums
  • Cultural programs

Funding may also be used for eligible improvements to publicly owned or operated facilities such as:

  • Parks
  • Playing fields and courts
  • Trails and bike paths
  • Pools and splash pads
  • Recreation facilities
  • Performing arts facilities

The RAP Program Committee reviews funding requests and makes recommendations to the Spanish Fork City Council. The City Council makes the final funding decisions.
