Membership Questions
What is Silver Sneakers and how do I qualify?
Silver Sneakers is a health insurance program that covers the cost of your recreation center membership. You will need to check with your insurance provider to see if they offer Silver Sneakers. If you are a Silver Sneakers participant, you will need to bring your 16-digit member number with you to sign up. Silver Sneakers gives you full access to our facility.
When can I get a Silver Sneakers (or other insurance provided) membership?
Insurance memberships Silver and Fit, Renew Active, and Silver Sneakers will be available when we open.
What is the refund policy for the FitCity Center?
There are no refunds given for FitCity Center memberships. If you are unsure about purchasing, sign up for a monthly membership. You can cancel at any time and there are no cancellation fees.
What is included in my membership?
Your membership includes access to the facility, including gyms, pickleball courts, fitness floor, fitness classes, indoor track, indoor playground, and pools. Swimming lessons and other programs will have an additional fee.
What promotions are you offering?
When you buy your membership before September 30, you will have three additional months added to your membership. Buy in October and receive two extra months. Buy in November and you will get one additional month. You will pay the regular listed rate, and your membership will be extended for the extra months.
What is a FitCity Founder?
FitCity Founders are members who purchase their pass before opening day. They will have a locked-in rate for five years, provided their membership remains current for the entire five-year period.
Facility Questions
What amenities will be included in this facility?
Among other features, the facility will contain these major elements:
- Indoor & outdoor leisure pools
- Competition pool with seating
- Senior/Community Center
- Multipurpose gyms
- Fitness areas
- Indoor track & indoor inclined track
How is the construction of this facility being funded?
The project has several funding sources including sales tax revenue (10%), RAP tax revenue (40%), impact fees (5%) and property taxes (40%).
What types of programming & classes will there be?
We’ll have a number of programs and classes including swimming lessons, spin, and yoga.
When can we expect this facility to be open to the public?
We will work efficiently through the design and construction phases. We anticipate completion in the fall of 2025.
Where is this facility going to be located?
The facility will be on the corner of Main Street and Volunteer Drive. It will provide beauty, accessibility, and shared space for our residents to enjoy while getting healthy together.
What will the admission costs be for the facility?
Current admission costs can be found on our rates page.
What jobs will be available at the facility?
Full-time positions will be limited to aquatics, operations, fitness, maintenance, and programming professionals. There will be many part-time positions as we will need lifeguards, operations staff, fitness instructors, custodians, and more. Most of these positions will be posted in the summer of 2025.
Is there a height requirement for the waterslide?
Yes, you must be at least 48 inches tall to go down the slide.
Does the rec center have a hot tub?
No, there is no hot tub or sauna.
When does the outdoor pool open?
The outdoor pool will be open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The outdoor pool will be open Monday - Saturday from 12 Noon to 6 PM
How may laps on the track equal a mile?
Inner track is 10 laps/mile
Outer track is 7.5 laps/mile
Do you have rental equipment available?
Rental equipment (basketballs, volleyballs, pickleballs and paddles) will be available at the front desk, a form of ID will need to be left with the front desk until the rental item is returned.
Child Care Questions
Will child care be offered?
Child care will be offered for a small fee for children 6 months to 8 years. Hours are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday - Friday and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday. Reservations can be made by FitCity Center members as early as 7 days and no later than 24 hours in advance.
What are the Child Watch rates?
Rates:
Drop In: $3 per hour per child
Subscription Pricing:
- 1 child: $24/month
- 2 children: $40/month
- 3 children: $54/month
- 4 or more children: $66/month
What is the maximum number of children allowed in Child Watch?
Child-to-caregiver ratios will be guided by the recommendations set by childcare.gov. Due to limitations for infants and toddlers, Child Watch may have openings for older children and be full for infants and toddlers, and vice versa.
