VERK is an industrial project area surrounding the Spanish Fork Airport that was created to support thoughtful, long-term industrial growth. It allows a portion of the new property tax revenue generated by development in the area to help pay for needed public infrastructure such as roads, power, sewer and water. For residents, VERK does not increase property tax rates, does not create an inland port, and is designed to keep new industrial traffic close to major highway interchanges rather than routing it through residential neighborhoods.
