Brush Fire Contained Near Powerhouse Road

SPANISH FORK, UT — Around noon on Thursday, June 26, Spanish Fork Fire & EMS responded to a brush fire on the hillside just south of Powerhouse Road, near the intersection with Spanish Oaks Drive.

As a precaution, residents on Oak Ridge Drive — located above the fire — were temporarily evacuated. The evacuation was lifted shortly afterward, and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly.

The fire burned approximately three-quarters of an acre. No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported.

Resources from neighboring cities, Utah County, and state agencies assisted in the response. After containment, the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands took control of the scene and remains on site to monitor conditions.

The fire is believed to be human-caused, though the specific cause is still under investigation. There is no current threat to the public or surrounding property.

“It’s always a scary situation when a fire breaks out near homes,” said Spanish Fork Fire Chief Eddie Hales. “I’m incredibly proud of the quick and professional response from our Spanish Fork Fire & EMS team, and we’re deeply grateful to all of the agencies and partners who responded to assist.”

Spanish Fork City extends its thanks to all responding partners for their rapid and coordinated efforts.
