Green Waste & Composting

Green Waste at a Glance

  • Residents may receive three (3) free green waste vouchers each calendar year.
  • Spanish Fork does not operate a municipal green waste or composting facility.

  • The former program closed because it cost substantially more to operate than the compost was worth.

  • Green waste, including branches, weeds, leaves and grass clippings, may be taken to the Dry Creek Transfer Station.

  • Residents may use their Spring & Fall Cleanup vouchers toward disposal costs.

  • Grass clippings can often be left on the lawn through grass-cycling, which returns nutrients to the soil.

  • Residents are encouraged to compost leaves, garden waste, weeds and food scraps at home.

  • Home composting can reduce waste in garbage cans and provide compost for gardens and flowerbeds.

  • Check the SUVSWD website for current disposal fees and accepted materials.
